Ellis Carroll, soprano, holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of South Carolina, as well as a Bachelor of Music & Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Voice Performance from Towson University.

Previous operatic appearances include Edith, Kate and Ruth (various performances of The Pirates of Penzance), Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro; Opera at USC), Bridget Booth (The Crucible; Opera at USC), and Hippolyta (Michael Ching’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, an a cappella opera; Towson University). Off-stage, Ms. Carroll has held positions as Assistant Stage Manager and Props Mistress with Opera at USC. She is an active art administrator with multiple SC arts organizations, including Chair of the Board of Directors of the Sandlapper Singers in their 30th anniversary season; she has previously served as Company Manager for FBN Productions, Inc. and was on the production team for the premiere Children’s Opera Festival (2024, 2026).

She is happy to be “home” in the School of Music as an Undergraduate Academic Advisor, and to be a part of the growth of each of her students. When she is not at the School of Music, she enjoys finding new books to read, hiking, working music festivals during the summer, and spending time with her dog, Bruno.
