Project Description: The proposed Civil Rights Center will be located east of the historic Booker T. Washington Building, between Blossom and Wheat Streets. Designed to serve as a central hub for scholarship, instruction, exhibitions, archives and community engagement, the new facility will complement the renovated Booker T. Washington Auditorium and strengthen the university’s commitment to preserving and advancing civil rights history and education. Phase I was approved by the Board of Trustees on June 19.
